SDSB Journal Paper Writing Workshop was organised with the aim of allowing participants to develop capability, skill and confidence in developing journal article publication ideas. The workshop helped individuals to develop and improve the dissemination of their research via international peer reviewed journal publications.
The workshop was conducted by Dr Amir M. Sharif Professor of Operations Management and the Founding Director of the Operations and Supply Chain Systems (OASIS) research group within Brunel Business School, Brunel University London. Amir has held a number of senior leadership roles within the business school, including Head of School, Assistant Head and Director of the School’s Doctoral and MBA programmes as well as Director of Teaching and Learning.
Prior to his academic career, Amir worked extensively for many leading global corporations including JPMorgan, UBS Investment Bank and KPMG. Amir continues to be research active across a diverse mix of topics including Operations & Supply Chain Management, Decision-Making and Operations Research applied to varied contexts such as manufacturing, public sector, humanitarian logistics and food security.
Amir is regularly called upon by leading national and international research funding bodies such as the British Council, British Academy, EPSRC, ESRC and the EU and the Qatar National Research Foundation (QNRF).
He is also a Fellow of several prestigious societies such as the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA), the Chartered Institute for Logistics and Transport (FCILT), the Institute of Leadership and Management (FInstLM) and is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).
