Speaker’s Profile

Anoop Madhok (PhD in Strategic Management, McGill University, Montreal 1993) is a Professor of Strategy and the Distinguished Scotiabank Professor in International Business & Entrepreneurship at the Schulich School of Business, York University, Toronto, Canada. He received an MBA from the University of Cincinnati and an MA in International Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Earlier he was Professor of Strategic Management at the University of Utah and at Vrije University, Amsterdam (part time). Additionally, he has held Visiting Professorships and research scholar positions at a number of institutions around the world, such as Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of Melbourne and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He has also worked as a manager in prominent multinational firms such as Imperial Chemicals (ICI) and Philips.

 

Professor Madhok’s work spans strategy, international business and entrepreneurship and his research interests include multinational firm strategy, interfirm collaboration and strategic alliances, the theory and boundaries of the firm and, more recently, the digital economy  and emerging market multinationals. His work has regularly been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Journal of International Business Studies, among many others. He currently serves on the editorial review board of Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business Studies and Academy of Management Discoveries, among others.
